Feeling good this morning [mostly.] Just moving slower than I’d like. It is an easy, relaxed pace though. Body seems to be in good order.
Morning Devotion - Strong visualizations in first part. A bit of actual energy flow. Slow down for second part.
So, here we are into Day 2 of Week 1. I enjoy that today is a Full Moon. This is a time of manifestation, completion, and fruition. The Full Moon lends itself to great personal power and inner passions.
Today I begin my 4-Day project. I am spackling a living room. I’ve done spackle work before, just never seriously. This is all that information I gathered before the holidays and after The Distributor. For the rest of the week I will be able to put that information to use and test my application of it.
As I said yesterday, when I finish this project I will have made some more income and then on Monday I have a Reading scheduled. I know this will cover most of what I am currently working on, but I am still left with that one final piece, and a deadline to boot. [Well, three deadlines, but that’s another matter.]
Yesterday, I would book a wedding for April. This meant some income right off the bat. I always ask for 20% as a measure of good faith on both our parts and to secure the date. That is what I did this time, but I also opened up the option to pay in full. The woman is a friend and knows where I am at in life, so I thought I would throw it out there. The full amount would have given me precisely what I ‘needed’ to finish up the responsibilities of the month. [And Then Some.]
I am not getting the full amount, and that is perfectly fine and fair. However, I am not getting the 20% either. Last night they paid 50% up front.
So, at this point here is what I now know of the next week or so - I have what I need to cover the bills and responsibilities, excepting that let one. I will have money left over to take care of whatever comes up along the way. I will also still have money towards that last goal.
I have 4 days of travel back and forth to Mahanoy City. Monday I have the Reading and Tuesday evening I am meeting the happy couple to be.
How all of my gaps fill themselves in I do not know. I will use my apps to see if I can find some retail merchandising along the way. I will use today, the first day - the 0 Day - to scope things out along the drive. See what stores are along the route and take note of the towns found along the way. In fact, I may go up the one route and come back the other. Just so I can see both directions. Then tonight I can look ahead for some small things tomorrow and project ahead for possibilities on the weekend.
Other than that, it is just a matter of keeping myself busy and occupied. I would like to work up a decent resume. I will require assistance and I have a few people to whom I would Lille to reach out for such. I need to start the job hunt. Currently I am 0 for 3.
I have projects in the shop and that is something I really wish to focus on. I thought I could nip it in the bud, but I see the pattern forming. I have lots and lots of projects. The list seems to grow each day. But, each day, I am also distracted and on the run with other things. Also, I think it will help if I stop looking at each project as a whole and start looking at the pieces.
Perhaps if I Write them out, I can Release the strain Just Enough to Realize them.
Here is the list:
I have a cabinet shelf to fix. This requires removing the old one, putting in a brace and cutting two pieces to ffm the new shelf. I think I have everything I need to do this.
I have a spice rack I would like to make. We don’t have much in the way of spices here in The Dormitory, by then, we also don’t have much in the way of spice storage either. Which comes first - the chicken or the egg? [The Spices or The Rack?)
Again, I should have everything to accomplish this.
I have a rum bottle that I would like to turn into an incense burner. This is what I was given the tool to complete.
I have the project that formed. It was two pieces of wood intended for snowmen. I found them, one day, laying on the work table together. They inspired me towards something else. I don’t want to give it away quite yet. But, this is mostly painting.
Speaking of painting I want to make the first official ‘Safety Union’ sign. It was inspired as a little humor, but I think I would like to see it through. I didn’t want to do it on wood and I just recently received three pieces of slate. Any one of them would be perfect. Also a purely painting project.
I have two key hooks to complete. Someone else started them and passed them on to me. They need to have the holes drilled for the hooks, get painted or whatever, and finished off.
I have a pipe pick holder to make.
I’m still working on the carving I had started for The List.
I have another little carving project to complete. Again, started elsewhere and passed to me.
Speaking of carving, I need to construct my carving board. [A little trick for making knife work easier that The Putter just shared with me the other day.]
I have a little hat/plaque to paint and complete. Once again, started elsewhere.
I have a shelf to repair and that plus one more to hang.
I had started my first pipe.
I have a stash of pipe picked ready to be formed.
I have three walking sticks in various stages of production. One needs a little more knife work still. Another needs a lot more carving work. And the last, I think, is ready to begin painting. One I made on my own with the slightest bit of assistance and guidance. One was started and passed on for me to complete. And the last was all but finished before it was handed to me. That’s the one that I think is ready for paint. [I was waiting to see what was missing from it. I thought maybe some knife work. Last night I found leather instead.]
I think that is the list as of right now. And, that’s just in the shop [which I did get organized yesterday.] I have also begun working on my hemp cross necklaces again. Of course, as I sit here I can think of a few ore odds and ends that are sitting out there - also in various stages of production.
Speaking of yesterday, I had two visitors. I bring it up, and find it interesting, because of where we are in time - that Week 1. The Week is all about The Emergence, coming into the world to know yourself.
Both of these visitors were unexpected at the start of the day. One called first, the other just popped in. I’m ok with this. I’m ok with all of this.
First, part of what I am trying to do right now is just let the days be whatever they will be, to allow them to form as needed. These visits were needed. BUt, also, something I have always wanted in a ‘home’ is an open door. I want a home where people feel comfortable visiting. Where they know they will be welcome any time night or day, whether in need of assistance or just some friendliness.
I saw a home like this once. It was DancingQueen’s family home. That kitchen door was like a turnstile at Grand Central Station - it was family and friends and neighbors and DancingQueen’s friends and friends’ friends. You just never knew who was going to be there or when or what kind of activity was going to be happening. I thought it was remarkable. Craze & Co. were never being on socializing. They had their moments, mostly scheduled out, but there was never a lot of people just popping by. Even my friends didn’t hang out there a lot until we were driving. None of them lived that close.
So this became my vision of a home. Even more so since The Princesses have come along. I want that kind of a home for them. I want a home for them that is comfortable, relaxed, warm, welcoming and, oh so very, active. This is what makes life.
I think that’s all the news that is the news...with Gary Gnu.
JOHNNY: Uh, Reverend, we must be concerned about licensing and property infringement. So, perhaps, you shouldn’t just randomly, all Willie-Nillie, pull material from other sources.
That reference is so obscure that there’s probably only about three people reading this who actually know where it comes from.
WALT: He said ‘willie.’ *giggles*
What are you five years old, Beavis?
WALT: Some days…and, they’re usually my best days.
Oy vay!
