Theme – Pain is Inevitable, Suffering is Optional

We covered this recently with All of Life is Suffering. I like this phrasing better. Pain is a side effect of having a body and a heart. Both will inevitably feel pain. They will feel pain throughout the whole of a life - off and on. That doesn't stop as long as there is life. But suffering is of the mind. We live in our pain. We hold on to it. We replay it over and over again. We give it the power. But we can't. That is what leads to suffering. We listen to others and repeat their words and judgements in our heads - over and over. This is what causes suffering. We get ourselves all twisted up in thoughts and beliefs that serve us no purpose.

Lesson – Know Yourself

We've had this before too. It's the secret. Know Yourself - in and out. Know your strengths and your weaknesses. Know the good and the bad of you. Know all of you and own yourself - wholly. Then the world can't break you down. [Though it will try.]

Observation – Let it Go

I know we have had this many times before. Repetition is Necessary. In this case it comes about because of the Artists Formerly Known as my Daughters. They didn't do anything. It was a conversation regarding them. Someone pointed out that I talk about them frequently. This is true. It got me thinking. Part of the reason they come up is because even though they have estranged themselves, they still have some degree of influence over my life. So, from time to time, that influence will reveal itself. But its more than that. The dialogue was about me being OK with them gone. The rest then was that being brought into question. So, yes, I'm OK with them removing themselves from my life. It hurts. It sucks. But I'm OK with it. That's where they are and what they need. I cannot have feelings about that - outside of supporting it. I may miss them but I don't long for them. I don't need them to be in my life. It is functioning just fine without them. Truth is, I don't know if I could have them in my life at this point. I don't know if I would be comfortable being myself with them anymore. That's not what I'm holding on to. What weighs on me is that, to hear them tell it, I have damaged them. I have been mean and rotten. Lord knows that is not what I would have ever wanted. I had nothing but love for those girls. I wanted them to grow up strong, independent, sure of and comfortable with who they are. But, apparently, I did the opposite. THAT is what is hard to deal with. I want that fixed but I can't. And that is what I have to remember. Right this Moment, I am powerless to fix or change anything. So, it is time to Let it Go. That is how healing begins. Just Let it Go and be done with it. Easier said than done, I know.

The Post

Whoa.

Dude.

It's been a week already. A whole week...and only just one week.

It was a lot in just one week. I feel like it could have been two. There was unexpected time at The Seasonal Store - both working and other. The Mayoral Runs [new nickname lol.]  There were rehearsals and shows at The Theatre. I had a Physiatrist appointment. A new medication. Driving every day - as I could. Video work. Checking in on friends. Trying to get Pt/OT scheduled. Other scheduling.

I got my finances under control. It took a lot of time, energy, and focus to beat out all the kinks. I have a long way to go to get where I want to be. I have plenty of effort to put forth to stay where I need to be. But, Right This Moment, I have things balanced and under control.

I'm not sure what else to put down at the moment. It's just gonna be a crazy several weeks. It will be a lot of juggling and balancing - driving, The Theatre, The Seasonal store. I have a doc appointment on Tuesday. Wednesday night I am taking Big 'D' to the last ball game of the season [for me.] I feel like its going to be another blink of an eye this week. Like I am going to get it started and then before I know it we are right back here on Sunday.

I will try to make better notes throughout the week so I can put here what needs to be here.

For now, I have a lingering concern that part of my past is going to come back to haunt me sometime over the next several weeks. I've been braced for it for quite some time and it has been fine so far. If I clear these weeks without it then I am going to Let it Go, forgive myself my transgressions and move on. Other than that, I have a presence in my life right now that I am trying to not put too much focus on. The only real focus needs to be avoidance for as long as I can. [But I do not think that will be allowed for long.]
