Theme – Do Less Have More

This was my very first Lesson. So early on my journey that conceivably it could have been an inspiration for The Wheel of Life. Even back them it made sense. I mean, I didn't get it. I certainly couldn't master it. But I understood it.

I have never truly lived it until now. I spent the last year recovering from the stroke and saving myself from the loss of my home and planning a trip for the Princesses. For two plus years before that I pushed [hard] to manage the finances and life of The Homestead. I was constantly on the go. Before that it was just trying to survive homelessness. And way back when, in the days of Olde Geistopia, I was chasing innumerable ways to try to make money and secure some kind of future formyself. And for 20 years I juggled The Princesses into the mix.

Through it all, I lost more and more of myself. I had no time. No peace. No money. [No life.]

Now, here I am, forced to do almost nothing. I can't work like I used to. I have no unending list of property chores. My options are limited. Yet, I find that I have more time to do things...or, more importantly, nothing at all. I am at peace more often than not. My finances are seeing consistent, minor, increases in various areas. And, on average, I am even getting more done.

I have been forced into going so much less and I find I have so much more of everything in my life.

Lesson – Re-Cycle

This is basically a version of purging. I will use my pantry as an example. I recently decided to purge my food - try to work through it before buying too much more. This cleared things out and shifted the dynamics. Eventually I started buying again and I noticed I was practically starting over - trying to restock the daily essentials while building a variety of meals and snacks. I've done that and managed a new kind of pantry along the way. I Re[set the] cycle.

Or, I'm noticing that I am having a stretch of productivity and activity followed by a period of stasis. Every time that happens, the cycle is resetting. [I see a similar pattern in my weekly division as well.]

We have to do this. We have to Re-set, Re-start, the cycle from time to time. That's the whole idea behind The Day of Rest.

Observation – We Have to Create the Illusion

I once read that when you want to change your life - new job, hobby, whatever - you must align yourself with it. Go to places where it thrives. Associate with people who live it.

Basically, you need to convince your mind that you are already living that life. You need to create the illusion so that the mind sees it and therefore believes it.

I use to say we had to brainwash ourselves. That phrasing was not received well haha.

I gave one example of creating the illusion in the videos this week. In my finances, I create the illusion always. I have learned so many different ways to fool the mind into what it is seeing.

For instance, when I do my budget, I never calculate in cash - income or expense. I know it will happen. I know there will be cash transactions. But I don't include it in the planning. It makes all of my final reports. I just don't include it in the budget. My whole budget is built from my checking account and my planned delivery income [plus Disability.]

Here is another illusion I have been working at in my finances. I decided to use my Cashapp account for miscellaneous spending - show tickets, things I need around The Chalet. Stuff like that. One practice I use is to round up to the nearest $5. If I spend $21.19 on something, I will round up to $25 when I transfer the money to cover it. This has, slowly over time, created small lingering amount. A second practice, added on to that is I have recently started using it for my gas purchases. For this, I just transfer the budgeted amount. It's already calculated with that amount taken out. So I just take it and transfer it. I don't ever use it all. Sometimes way less.

In both instances, this creates the illusion of the money not being there. It's not in my primary account so it no longer exists. That hole, or gap, then naturally calls out to be filled and I somehow manage to earn or save Just Enough to fill the void. At the same time, no matter how things may look in the budget, my mind knows that there are stashes of funds - just in case. So there is no need for fear or doubt.

I could go on and on about this Observation because my life is built arount it. Everything I do is for the illusion.

The Post

Candles are lit. Incense is burning. The music plays.

My days and week are calculated.

The Chalet is disorderly. But it is time to write.

The mood is right.

You wanna know how I feel today? Do ya? Huh?

I feel like I just stepped out of a Void. That's how I feel. Like, I know life has been happening cause I've been living it. But it's all such a blur. Almost surreal. I feel on point but out of sync all at the same time.

I feel like I am behind or things aren't done. Yet, so much has been happening and shifting all about and still I feel like I am keeping time. The march goes on.

It would be nice [I almost used the 'W' word] It would be nice if I felt I could find word appropriate to convey the echoes in the depth and recesses of my mind.

I'm content but restless; At peace and wrestling with strife.

I am well below the poverty level [or, at least I was for 2025] and at the same time I am more financially balanced and abundant than I have been at any other time in my life.

I am constantly working at something [even if it's learning to do nothing] so I am always busy or occupied in some way. Lately, it seems as though every week I have all the time in the world to do it.

There are no particular Goals but thing are happening all over.

I've been told it is a year of No-Thing. Yet, I want to do everything...and I don't know if I can actually do anything.

I celebrate every moment of Life that I live, but I am just as content if it was done.

"You will be broken down to nothing so that you can be built up stronger."

In October it will be 28 years since that message was delivered to me. [ I only had to drive to Bar Harbor, ME to get it.] 28 years. That's 4 cycles of 7. (Or, is that 7 Cycles of 4?)

[Hmmm?]

Oh the number of times throughout the years I thought I had been broken down as possible.

Oh...the number of times I was proven wrong.

I, for sure thought homelessness was the one. Seriously, how much more broken can one get? I was broke. I had no real funds in my account. I had no home. I was lost and confused and torn and struggling inside. [For so many reasons.]

I was broken down but I was not broken. Not even close.

Though it wasn't a large sum, I did have a steady income from The Theatre. [At least for a while.] I had a car - and then a tree house - to live in. I was more than skilled in functioning out of my vehicle by that point. And the tree house was just a very condensed version of so many spaces before it.

I had something else. I had focus and drive and determination. When homelessness took affect, I was working as full time as possible at The Theatre - food prep, dishes, general maintenance, help with sets. Whatever was put on my plate at the time.

I was also directing the Middle School Show. That, of course, turned out to be a lot more involved. Till all was said and done I was essentially the only adult involved. I directed, choreographed, stage managed, taught music, got props and costumes, "built" sets. Not to mention, the commitment included a small performance at a district wide Arts Gala. [So, add one more layer to that friggin' onion.]

Thrown into the mix - I was rehearsing my first full stage production in about 18 years. It wasn't a lead role but a significant supporting role. If all that wasn't enough I was preparing to understudy an upcoming understudy role at The Theatre.

This chaos ran from February through May of 2019.

Still, all things considered, how much more broken could one be? No home. Job shifts. Separated from my daughters. This had to be the time...right?

Wrong.

Oh how very wrong.

I was nowhere near as broken as I have been in recent months. It took 13 months to complete but I was broken. No home. Half a body. Lost my daughters. No hopes nor plans nor dreams. I seemed to have spirit but I'm pretty sure I was in fake it till ya make it mode.

November 13, 2024 through about Yule 2025.

13 months. (That's not by chance ya know.)

Since we have not reached the end of the journey it is hard to say if I have been built up stronger. But I have most certainly been building back better. It's been a process and a progress. It's been little shifts and moves here or there.

Despite how it looks on the surface, I can honestly say that as a whole, across the board, my life is better than it has ever been...and it it appears to continue improving week by week.

I am far from any kind of major accomplishment. But never in my life have I had a constant flow of income, the ability to buy things I need without hesitation, the luxury of buying things I want or going to see shows, or a reserve stash of any kind. [Let alone one that increases .]

All I can do right now is keep coasting along and see how things develop.

Before I go, I want to stress the importance of the next paragraph. If you are reading this but haven't checked the videos, you should check them out. The videos work in tandem.
