Theme – Learn As You Go
I'll get specifics wrong but will still get the point across. I once heard Orson Wells talk about his first time directing. I don't remember details. [It was Once Upon Ago.] But, someone important in the industry said to him, "Listen...everything you need to know about directing you can learn in 10 minutes. Everything else you learn as you go." Now I don't remember if he said it in the interview or if I was smart enough to think of it on my own but that's kind of how every job is. The really important stuff that you need to know to function you learn rather quickly. It's all the other stuff - the nuances, the unique situations - that it takes years to learn and that is true for everyone in every job. You can work for 10 years in the same job and still not have encountered every scenario that could teach you something different about your job and how to do it. You learn as you go. I think that's life too. No matter who we are or what we've done we are always learning how to live while we're living. We're all doing the best we can based on what we have experienced so far. We learn as we go.
Lesson – Take the Time
I always have a list of To-Dos. So many of them are the "sometime" list. Well, sooner or later sometime has to come. One has to make [or take] the time to do it. But how I really came upon this was that I noticed that I can let things gather and sit in The Chalet. Especially during the work week. I just need to take the time to do all the stupid, simple little things along the way and the gathering won't happen. I have...Take the Time.
Observation – Life to Perfection
I know it's hard to see sometimes but life always happens to perfection. Every moment. Every experience. Every win, every hurt, every change or challenge. Just because things may not be happening the way we want them to doesn't mean their not happening the way we need them to. Always trust the process and believe.
The Post
The week behind me seems so very long. It's only Tuesday that I went to Delaware and the zoo and it seems a much more distant memory. I don't know why that is. I don't feel as though it was a particularly active week. Quite the opposite in fact.
I feel like I had a slow unproductive week. I don't know that I feel accomplished in any way.
My work week wasn't as strong as I would have liked it to be. However I did save $100 of budgeted money along the way so I guess that made up for some of the shortage. It was money I was supposed to be spending and didn't. A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned, I suppose.
I don't feel like I got a whole lot done. I mean the Chalet seems to be in good order and the "other" side is even a lil better than before. All of that is good of course. It keeps me calm and balanced. But I don't know that I actually accomplished anything. It seems more like I just made a longer to-do list.
I struggled with weakness and fatigue this week. I don't know why. In fact, part of the reason today was so short was that I was struggling to reach up and grab the steering wheel. I don't know if it's the heat, the slight humidity, the crazy schedule of the last two weeks...or something else.
The week ahead isn't much better in that regard. [Any of those regards really.] It's supposed to be hotter the next few days. It's fine in as much as they are days off so I won't be suffering in Artemis. However, based on my experience today, I will be baking in the Chalet. [and not in the good way.] It's only temporary. It's supposed to get cooler at the end of the week and by them I should have the a/C fixed in Artemis so I can at least stay comfortable while I work and I hope that will help. I will have to do something about A/C for the Chalet. I have it budgeted for June but Right This Moment June is looking a bit tough financially.
I also have a list of stuff I'm trying to do this week - clean the Chalet, clean Artemis, work on the garden tires and other plant things. Not to mention I need to finish the Quest video.
I feel positive about the future. But, I am nervous about the next several weeks. I just have to muddle through a lil longer. I realize that is the same old song and dance for 30 years now but I really do dense something brewing. I just have to try to get through these weeks and hopefully manage everything that is budgeted. It's a tight run for a while but I do think things get a lil easier by July.
My only plan is to keep doing what I've been doing. It seems to be working. It's gotten hairy at times but it has all been working out so far.
I finally got my teeth this week and now that I'm thinking about it I wonder if they have anything to do with some of my struggles. I mean it has definitely been an adjustment for my mouth. It has responded as if to a foreign object. [which they really are.] So I wonder if that has been impacting my body, even if only slightly.
I don't know what got me on it but I was thinking about the difference a year can make. Like...how things can change in just a year.
Last year at this time I was living at the Homestead. I was working therapy and a plan to get back on the road. I was just trying to live life until June when money would be coming in again.
I was also recoiling and recovering from a text fight with Sunshine. I said something wrong and upset her. Then spent a day going back and forth trying to make myself clear. Based on the Boston experience I would say I failed at that.
At the same time, Mrs. Landlord took offense to something I said in one of my daily dose videos. She shot off at me and I shot right back because I don't take that shit from anyone. This was probably the first nail in the coffin of losing the home.
A year before that I was working pretty much 7 days a week pushing to keep the Homestead afloat and alive. It was tough but life seemed good.
Now, here I am living in a shed on Geistopia.
I'm making small financial improvements - slowly. I'm taking care of business and managing my life. I'm being social like I never have before. Overall life is good...but I'm living in a shed.
[And The Princesses have cut me from their lives.]
In just three months, I will be at a year since the move out day.
I wonder what life will look like in 3 months.
For now my challenge is to keep on keeping on. I like life at the moment - challenges and all. I just need to balance myself out a lil more. Then...
It's time to see if I can figure out why I am really back here.
