Theme – It's Just my Job

Years ago, my Reiki Master told me that I "hold Geistopia together." My family didn't like that statement. But it seems to be the case. I do all the little things that others ignore. I've been pulling weeds that would otherwise make for an overgrown property. I trimmed branches for walking and the mowers. When we were working on the panel box there were two lights out in the basement. Everyone knew they were out. The bulbs were on the shelf. But no one did it. When I was in and out of the kids' room [while working on the panel box] I noticed that their doorknob was so loose it was close to falling off. The next time I went up for a shower I tightened it. They have trouble with the front door. They can't open it right. It seems to be the dead bolt. There is a dead bolt brand new in the package on the shelf in the basement. I guess that is my next task.

Lesson – What is Removed is Replaced

My 2 weeks brought a decrease in work. It wasn't just less days on the road but even the days I went out had low offers. It was stressing me out. All that lost money. I kept trying to adjust my schedule but it would adjust right back. Then it happened. Payments I was expecting in cash [which doesn't get calculated in my working budget] came by check. That made up some of it. Then I received a letter from the IRS. As fate would have it, apparently I qualify for an EIC refund. That makes up the rest...and then some. I was reminded of Job.

Observation – As Much as Things Change They Stay the Same

So life has changed quite a bit since I left Geistopia. Now I am back. I'm back at Geistopia but I am living in what used to be The Cave. I don't have free access to the house. I don't bother anyone. I pay for the electric I use. Yet somehow there seems to be a certain degree of the same accusing animosity. I'm driving up the electric bill. [Even though I pay more than my share.] The recent electrical issue was my fault. I was adding too much power to the line. Even though the problem wasn't in the line. [All four circuits weren't pulling the max for my circuit.] The problem was in the 40 year old breaker tying it all together. And, again, all the little things I do around the property are unnoticed and unappreciated.

The Post

I have had such a very challenging [and strange] two weeks. I totally did not see it coming [though I feel like there were signs in the stars or Totems.] It didn't hurt me any but it has certainly thrown me a bit off. [Yet, somehow also seems to have balanced me out.]

The more I look at it, the more it makes sense to me. It all started with Midsummer. I wasn't surprised at first. If Yule brings transformation, it only stands to reason that Midsummer would as well. They are literally polar opposites. I did not expect it to last the same 2 weeks though. I kept trying to get back to "regular" life [even wanting to make up some loss] but none of it played out the way I planned. It was truly a day by day adventure.

I feel like it all worked out. I may seem behind in some things - off course - but by and large life seems steady and ready for moving forward. I got The Shop cleaned up and organized. I'm working at things - slowly, but still working. I moved some yard stuff along - trimmed the pine branches down, pulled more weeds, prettied up outside The Chalet. I re-worked all my finances to plan my way through my upcoming Goals. I need 3 more tires - 2 as soon as possible. The third shortly thereafter. I need to finish paying off The Mechanic. I need to finish The Garden Project. [Especially if I actually want to plant anything.] I have 2 more things I really want for The Shop - another outlet box and a handheld reciprocating saw.]

I've purged some inner stuff. I have more on which I need to work. [I always do....and one day I will.] In thew meantime, I keep working on all my daily dillies - exercises, pills, etc. I get a good groove going and then I lose it. It's a lot really...and there's more I want to do. But, it takes me a while to piddle my way through it all in the morning. [4 hours today till I got done and ate breakfast.] So when I have stuff going in the morning its hard to stay on it.

July looks pretty straightforward. No heavy schedules nor appointments. No social plans. Just living life as it unfolds. August looks to be about the same.

The end of August marks 1 year since I officially left the Homestead. I had hoped for 3 months of homelessness - 6 at the most. Well....surprise!! I did not see things going this way, but they have. I cannot complain. I'm happy with the slow but steady developments of my life.

I'm not going to make any projections nor predictions, Tis the Year of No Thing, after all. I just need to let things be. I do think the next two months are going to be easier, steadier, maybe more productive. It took me 10 months to get settled and functional [in this life I didn't plan.] That's not bad considering the life I was up against along the way.

The Princesses are sticking to their excommunication of me. It's getting easier to accept and deal with as time goes on. As long as they are happy and healthy, who am I to be upset?

I think that's all for now. Let's see what comes next.
